Time is set aside at each regular meeting for public participation when community members can address the Board.NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC Please take notice that, at its regularly scheduled meeting on August 21, 2023, the Jefferson Township Board of Education (hereinafter referred to as the "Board") shall meet for the purpose of renegotiating, amending or otherwise altering the terms of the employment contract with the Superintendent. For the months of September, October, November and December the Board meets in the Thornridge High School Auditorium during the months of January, February, March and April the Board meets in the auditorium at Thornton Township High School and during the months of May, June, July, and August the Board meets in the cafeteria at Thornwood High School. As Board members, we work with the administration, meet with community groups, and receive input from parents, students, and community members. The Board conducts its business in open meetings to which the public is invited and encouraged to attend. Board elections are held every two years in April. The seven members are elected at large by District 205 residents and serve unpaid, four-year terms. The Thornton Township High School District 205 Board of Education sets policy for the school district, in accordance with state and federal laws, in order to ensure the educational results for all District students.
